(Saturday): arrival day and Holy Loch to Loch Goil: Embark from 1400 hours and immediately get into the holiday spirit with a drinks reception on board and a skippers briefing. Set sail for a leisurely cruise up Loch Long to Arrochar, returning to drop anchor off Carrick Castle in Loch Goil for the night. Enjoy your first dinner on board and have an opportunity to get to know your shipmates and your bearings around the boat.
Loch Goil, Rothesay and Loch Riddon. Breakfast will be served either at anchor or while cruising up Loch Goil to take in scenic Lochgoilhead. Cruise along the coast of the Isle of Bute then go ashore to explore the pretty town of Rothesay. Cruise up beautiful East Kyle to Loch Riddon going through the "narrows" at Burnt Island. Loch Riddon is one of the more remote of the Argyll lochs and an evening stroll on its banks is to be recommended. You also might want to try your hand at fishing from the aft deck or the boat tender or assisting the crew in laying the boat's creels for lobster and crab
Loch Riddon to East Loch Tarbert. Stretch your legs on a shore walk from picturesque Caladh Harbour to Tighnabruich. Or motor past the "Maids of Bute" to Tighnabruich where we all meet up to explore the town. Sail to East Loch Tarbet, a typical West Coast working fishing village with colourful houses and pubs. Explore while the crew get locally caught fresh shellfish at the quayside for dinner. A short hop takes us to our anchorage for the night, Stonefield Castle, situated in a beautiful quiet bay; walk around the gardens to build an appetite for dinner at anchor.
East Loch Tarbert to Inveraray: Cruise up Loch Fyne taking in Minard Castle, then on to Inveraray arriving in time for lunch. Lots to see and do in this charming town; Inveraray Castle is very impressive and there are many delightful walks. Farewells and disembark mid-afternoon with transport back to Glasgow airport or the Holy Loch Marina. |
The itinerary is flexible, depending on the wishes expressed by our guests and getting the best from the weather conditions on the day
