Can we do a tour of the islands and the highlights in a couple of days?
It is a common misconception that Scotland is small and that it is possible to travel from one end to the other in a reletivley short period of time. However due to the geographical nature of our country, we have many mountains to climb on small country roads which increase the time it takes to get from one place to another. We can certainly fit a lot into a days tour which we would call a photo stop tour, however to enjoy what Scotland has to offer, we recommend no less than a 7 day tour for the full experience. We would also recommend adding in at least a day for each Island that you wanted to visit.
How many people can you take on tour?
We can tour any amount of people dependant on the needs of those in your group. Our standard tours are based around 8 people tours and we will travel in a vehicle suiting this number. We do not tour in large coaches/buses as this is not what Best Scottish Tours is about! We can however accommodate all sizes of groups from 2 people and above in our own way.
What food & drink is included in the tour price?
Your accommodation will always include a hearty Scottish breakfast. A variety of lunch options will be offered throughout the tour depending on day and location. Because of this variety, lunch costs are not included in the tour price. Your evening meal will be included where possible as part of the accommodation. Where the meal is not included, a budget of £20.00 per person will be allocated. Drinks are not included in the tour price.
Do you accept children?
We certainly do accept childern of all ages however we would show this as a children friendly tour so that those with and without children can make the choice. We do expect all children to sit in child seats which we will provide for the duration of the tour. We also offer discounts to children under 10 sharing a room with their parents - please just let us know at the time of enquiry the ages and sleeping arrangements of your family.
When are deposits and balances due?
We have a 45 day prior to arrival policy for full balance payments to be made. We also ask for a deposit of 20% upon booking to secure your tour. These payments are held in a secure account until the end of each tour. Payment can be made via PayPal or via BACS transfer.
What about insurance?
We do not sell insurance for our tours and recommend as with any travel plans that you take out a suitable policy for touring whilst in Scotland.
Are you part of Visit Scotland?
Visit Scotland do not currently have a standard for tours of more than one day and as we specialise in bespoke tours of 7 days and more, we are unable to get a star rating at this time. As soon as this is available, we will attain our stars.
