Day 1 is a fabulous introduction to the Scottish landscape, exploring the village of Luss on the bonnie banks of Loch Lomond. After lunch you may wish time for a hill or loch-side walk in the beautiful Argyll Forest Park before we travel to Oban for our ferry journey to the rugged Isle of Mull.
Day 2 we tour the isle of Mull with its stunning mountain scenery and seascapesand a fascinating clan history. We visit the Isle of Mull Weavers and the town of Tobermory with its wonderful frontage of painted houses and interesting shops.
Day 3 begins with a return journey to the mainland and a spectacular “Road to the Isles” trip providing wonderful views across the Sound of Arisaig to the Small Isles of Eigg and Rhum. Our journey takes us past Neptune’s Staircase on our way to take the ferry “Over the Sea to Skye”.
Day 4 is a tour of the Island of Skye, passing through Broadford and on to the Island capital, Portree, with its colourful harbour front. Heading north we take in the fabulous scenery and seascapes from Kilt Rock Falls, with time for a walk amongst the Cuillin Mountains and the Fairy Pools.
Day 5 we venture east into the Cairngorms National Park, with towering mountain ranges and large tracts of the original Caledonian Pine Forest. After lunch we visit Leault Farm, Kincraig, for the Sheepdog demonstration. We end the day in the charming Victorian town of Pitlochry. Overnight Pitlochry.
Day 6 we explore the iconic glens and straths of the Cairngorms on our way to the biggest event in the Highland Games calendar. At the Braemar Gathering the village echoes to the sound of competing pipe bands and the varying colours of numerous tartans are in abundance. Overnight Pitlochry.
Day 7 allows for a relaxing pace as we visit the highland village of Dunkeld as we tour south and then Stirling Castle for a full tour to take in the castle's long and turbulent history.
