Day 1 is a fabulous introduction to the Scottish landscape; exploring the bonnie banks of Loch Lomond and the loch-side village of Inveraray with a visit to its famous Castle, home of the Duke and Duchess of Argyll. Later we travel to Oban, ‘Gateway to the Isles’, and take a ferry to Mull. Overnight Mull
Day 2 we tour the north of the isle of Mull with its stunning mountain scenery, seascapes and abundant wildlife. We visit the town of Tobermory with its wonderful frontage of painted houses and interesting shops, walk the white sand beach at Calgary Bay, and visit Duart Castle. Overnight Mull
Day 3 we travel south to take the ferry to enchanting Staffa (landing if weather allows), where the motion of the waves crash into Fingal's Cave formed from giant basalt columns. Later we travel back to the mainland to view the iconic Glencoe landscape. Overnight the nr. Glencoe
Day 4 takes us west on the spectacular ‘Road to the Isles’ providing wonderful views across the Sound of Arisaig to the Small Isles of Eigg and Rhum. We stop at Glenfinnan to take in the views and learn of ‘Bonnie Prince Charlie’ and his Jacobite army. From Mallaig we take the ferry over to Skye. Overnight nr. Skye
Day 5 is a tour of the magical Island of Skye, passing the famous Cuillin Mountains and the town of Broadford to the Island capital, Portree. Heading north we take in the fabulous scenery and seascapes with Dunvegan Castle and other options a possibility. Overnight the nr. Skye
Day 6 begins with a visit to iconic Eilean Donan Castle before travelling through Glen Shiel to the charming village of Fort Augustus on the shores of Loch Ness - keep a look out for Nessie! We travel through the central Highlands to Pitlochry, made popular by Queen Victoria. Overnight Pitlochry
Day 7 allows for a relaxing pace as we visit the highland village of Dunkeld as we tour south and then Stirling Castle for a full tour to take in the castle's long and turbulent history. Later we visit Doune Castle which features in Monty Python and the Outlander series. Overnight Stirling
Day 8 takes us to Edinburgh via ancient Culross and the Forth Rail Bridge and then a leisurely visit to 15th century Rosslyn Chapel, made famous by Dan Brown's book The Da Vinci Code.Later, enjoy some free time in Edinburgh’s Royal Mile with its charming medieval architecture. Tour ends approx. 5pm
