Scottish Cooking, Butter Tart

On your tour of scotland you might find some very good examples of this great Scottish Food! 1/2 c. brown sugar Bring brown sugar, water, butter and Karo to a boil. Add 1 teaspoon vanilla. Beat 1 egg and add cooked mixture slowly by tablespoon to the egg. Add raisins and nuts. Put in pastry tart shells. Bake at 425 degrees for 4 minutes then at 350 degrees for 10 minutes. Makes 1 dozen. |
