Highlands & Islands Tour - 9 Days
This popular Highlands & Islands Tour underlines the many contrasts of Scotland; beautiful island and coastal landscapes, the majestic Highlands, magical castles, remote historic places and does so in a relaxing 9 days. Take in the contrasting scenery that Scotland has to offer, from the lochs and forests of the mainland, to the mountainous landscapes of Skye and the Cairngorms as well as the history and culture of Harris and Lewis.
Stirling Castle & Loch Lomond
Stirling is very much associated with Scotland's battle for freedom and a tour of Stirling Castle will reveal close connections with the great figures from Scotland's past. Best known for the dreadful massacre of 1692, Glencoe is a hauntingly beautiful place with its towering mountains and many waterfalls providing a dramatic backdrop.
West Highlands by Jacobite Steam Train
Described as one of the great railway journeys of the world the Jacobite Steam Train is the perfect addition to the trip of a lifetime. Boarding near the highest mountain in Britain, Ben Nevis, you are transported through some of the most spectacular scenery in Scotland. Cross the world famous 14 arch Glenfinnan viaduct, then view the “Small Isles” of Rum, Eigg, Muck, Canna and the southern tip of Skye.
Isle of Skye
The magical Isle of Skye has its own unique mystic atmosphere, defined by the jagged outline of the ridges of the Cuillin mountain ranges contrasting with the gentle curves of coastline. The views to mountain, sea and coast are outstanding and the main town of Portree is colourful and welcoming.
Outer Hebrides - Harris
With the old Norse meaning 'high land', Harris is often described as the 'high heart of the Hebrides'. This place is breathtakingly beautiful with miles of golden sandy beaches with stunning mountain backdrops formed from the oldest rock in the world. From cliffs, mountains and moorlands to crofts, lochs, meadows and sandy beaches, this is an island ready to exceed all expectations.
Outer Hebrides - Lewis
Experience the true heartland of the Gaels and the Gaelic language on the largest and most populated of the Outer Hebridean islands. Bursting with world famous archarteological sites, Lewis holds the Neolithic 'Callanish Stones' predating the Egyptian Pyramids, the Pictish Carloway Broch, the Norse mill house and many more. Walk the deserted white soft sand beaches and let your thoughts drift away.
Wester Ross
Wester Ross, in the far north west of Scotland, is perfectly unspoiled because of its remoteness and the landscape is dotted with traditional crafting townships and remnants of the ancient Caledonian forest. The panoramas are breath-taking as you travel the winding road and the climate on the coast is surprisingly mild for an area that is as northerly as Oslo. This has to be one of the world’s rarest and special places.
Loch Ness
Central Highlands
The Cairngorm National Park is in the heart of Scotland. The scenery is greener and more afforested but dominated by the stark, ancient mountain ranges of Monadhliath. Heather moorland and the protected remnants of the original Caledonian pine forest cover much of the National Park, providing a valuable habitat for Scotland's native species.
Edinburgh
Amazing  Rosslyn Chapel is en route to Edinburgh therefore a great opportunity to pay a visit. Edinburgh, capital of Scotland, is famed for its architecture and the mediaeval Old Town and Georgian New Town are listed as World Heritage Sites. Edinburgh Castle dominates the skyline, a castle fortress with a history as a royal castle since the 12th century. During a tour of the Castle you can view the Scottish Crown jewels.

We enjoyed our trip so much and can't wait to have the opportunity to come again. Matthew is a superior guide and we will definitely be recommending your company to any of our friends planning to visit. Again, thank you so much and we really did have the best time. ”
