What is your passion?
I love the natural world, travelling to new places, exploring. I do art classes and occasionally help to run the gallery where I paint. I enjoy all kinds of music and go to many gigs.
Do you have a favourite tour?
For me, you can’t beat the highlands in summer. Stunning scenery, wide open vistas, clean air, good food and hospitality. Freedom!
What’s your favourite drink amongst friends?
Tea or coffee (honestly!)
When you’re not on tour, what do you enjoy doing?
I love spending time with my family, listening to my son playing guitar (he’s awesome!), seeing my daughter’s amazing artworks (she’s much better than me), travelling to new places on holiday, doing art or a bit of gardening, and eating out. I play badminton twice a week with friends and enjoy walking, reading, and science fiction.
What do you love about Scotland?
The stunning scenery, new buds in spring, snow on the mountains in winter, and above all friendly people.
"There are not enough proper words to describe the most incredible, wonderful experience with this tour group. From the tour we chose, to the accommodations and meals provided were incredible. The communication this was prompt, courteous helpful (we had many questions). But the best part of this experience was elevated to a superior level with our tour guide Jim. He was phenomenal!! HIs passion, his knowledge, his stories made this a magical experience. I am in love with Scotland because of Jim and this tour. the absolute Best!"Peggy - Sarasota, FL
"Our 7-day “Best of Scotland” tour with Best of Scotland Tours was nothing short of magical. From start to finish, the experience felt thoughtfully crafted, immersive, and genuinely special—but what truly elevated it was our driver-guide, Jim. He wasn’t just knowledgeable—he brought Scotland to life. His storytelling and insights gave us a deeper understanding and appreciation of the people, culture, religion, and politics, all set against the backdrop of Scotland’s rich and often dramatic history. You don’t just see Scotland on this tour—you understand it. There were far too many highlights to list, but a few moments stand out. The drive over Bealach na Bà was unforgettable—equal parts thrilling and breathtaking. The sheer beauty of the Isle of Skye felt almost surreal, like stepping into another world. And then there were the towns—each with its own charm and character. Portree with its postcard-perfect harbor, Pitlochrynestled in the Highlands, and Dunkeld with its historic feel—these are the kinds of places that stay with you long after you return home. This wasn’t just a trip—it was an experience we’ll carry with us for a lifetime. If you’re considering Scotland, this tour sets a very high bar."JoAnne - South Fork, CO
