What is your passion?

Family sits at the heart of everything I do. I’m incredibly proud of my three grown up children and seven grandchildren, and spending time with them is always my greatest joy. Alongside family life, I have a real passion for golf and ornithology. Whether it’s a round at my local course or quietly observing Scotland’s birdlife, I enjoy the balance of activity and calm that both bring.

Tell us about you and where you live

I live in the charming village of Skelmorlie in North Ayrshire, a peaceful spot on Scotland’s west coast with beautiful views across the Firth of Clyde. My career has been both varied and rewarding. I spent 10 years in the Royal Navy straight from school, followed by a long career as a Police Officer. These experiences have shaped my character and given me a strong appreciation for people from all walks of life.

When you’re not on tour, what do you enjoy doing?

These days, I enjoy socialising with friends and staying active through golf, where I’ve had the honour of serving as Captain at my local club.

What’s your favourite drink amongst friends?

A good gin is always my drink of choice, especially when shared with friends after a day out enjoying Scotland’s fresh air.

What do you love about Scotland? Is its people, its scenery and its spirit. From rugged coastlines to rolling hills, there is always something new to appreciate, and as a proud supporter of Rangers F.C., there is always a bit of football passion in the mix too.
