Discover Scotland's stunning highland landscape, island scenery and ancient heritage over 6 exhilarating days. Begin your exploration through the heart of Scotland as we explore Scotland's first National Park, beautiful Loch Lomond, Inveraray Castle and on to Oban town for a tour and tasting at the world famous distillery. Visit enchanting Glencoe. and enjoy the journey along the 'Road to the Isles' to the Isle of Skye, before touring east to Loch Ness, Inverness and then south through the Cairngorms National Park with heather-clad moutains and Caledonian Pine Forests. This tour includes carefully selected, quality accommodation.
Today is a fabulous introduction to Scotland's west coast landscape, exploring Scotland’s first National Park and the ‘bonnie banks’ of Loch Lomond. After lunch, we venture on to the loch-side village of Inveraray where we visit Inveraray Castle &
Gardens, home of the Duke and Duchess of Argyll. Explore the interesting
shops and later, if desired, enjoy an evening walk along the promenade.

Today we tour west to visit the seaside town of Oban, Gateway to the
Isles, known for its fresh seafood and ferry connections to the isles.
Explore the town, visit Oban Distillery for a tour & tasting and take in the
panoramic views from McCaig’s Tower that dominates the skyline. When
ready, we journey north through the stunning highland scenery to the
mountains of Glencoe to learn about the bloody history here before
heading to Fort William for the evening. Overnight Fort William.
After breakfast we tour west on the spectacular ‘Road to the Isles’
which provides wonderful views across the Sound of Arisaig to the Small
Isles of Eigg and Rhum. Our journey follows the West Highland Railway,
intended to help open up this rural and remote part of the Scottish
Atlantic coast. After a lovely lunch in the traditional fishing port of Mallaig
we take the ferry “Over the Sea to Skye”. Enjoy the beautiful scenery as
we make our way to this evenings’ accommodation. Overnight Skye area.
Today is a tour of the Isle of Skye, passing the Cuillin Mountains
that dominate the island and on to the main settlement, Portree, with its
colourful harbour front and interesting shops. Heading north we take in
Kilt Rock Falls, the Old Man of Storr, and the Quiraing as we travel
through the rugged Trotternish Peninsula. Other options are a possibility
and dependent on the weather, but this will most definitely be a day to
remember. Overnight Skye area.
After breakfast, enjoy a spectacular visit to iconic Eilean Donan
Castle before travelling through Glen Shiel to the charming village of Fort
Augustus on the shores of Loch Ness. We’ll stop for lunch here with a
chance to look around before moving on to travel the length of the loch.
On the way, enjoy the natural beauty of the Falls of Foyers, a breathtaking
140‑foot waterfall carving through a forested gorge on its journey to Loch
Ness before we visit Inverness for the afternoon. Overnight nr Inverness.
This morning we visit Culloden Battlefield which will provide a
lasting image of Bonnie Prince Charlie and his Jacobite Army of 1746. Visit
the visitor centre and walk the battlefield to get full emersed in the
history here. When ready, we travel south to tour through the Cairngorms
National Park with heather clad mountains and vast tracts of ancient
Caledonian Pine Forest. After lunch, we stop for some free time in the
Victorian tourist town of Pitlochry before making the last journey back to
Edinburgh. Tour ends in Edinburgh.
