This 8 day journey is an incredible introduction to Scotland. Explore and experience the many different aspects that Scotland has to offer; the fabulous scenery of our National Parks and enchanting Glencoe, beautiful Loch Lomond and Loch Ness, the charming traditional communities of Inveraray, Pitlochry and Fort Augustus, historic Culloden Battlefield and Eilean Donan Castle and the vibrant centres of Inverness, Stirling, St Andrews and Edinburgh.

Day 1

Loch Lomond & Glencoe


Day 1 is a fabulous introduction to the Scottish landscape, exploring the mountains, glens and lochs of Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park and beautiful lochside village of Inveraray with its famous castle. The journey north takes us through the stunning scenery of Glencoe. Overnight Glencoe

Day 2

Jacobite Steam Train


Day 2 takes us aboard the Jacobite Steam Train, now famous as the Harry Potter “Hogwarts Express”, which forms part of the West Highland Railway intended to help open up this remote part of the Scottish coast. After a lovely lunch in Mallaig we take the ferry “Over the Sea to Skye”. Overnight nr Skye

Day 3

Isle of Skye


Day 3 is a tour of the Isle of Skye, passing through Broadford to the famous Cuillin Mountains and on to the main settlement on the Island; Portree. Heading north we take in Uig, the Old Man of Storr and Kilt Rock Falls with Dunvegan Castle and other options a possibility. Overnight nr Skye

Day 4

Eilean Donan & Loch Ness


Day 4 begins with a visit to Eilean Donan Castle before travelling through beautiful Glenshiel to the village of Fort Augustus on the shores of Loch Ness. Later, we head north for some much-needed whisky tasting at the distillery. Overnight nr Inverness

Day 5

Cairngorms National Park


Day 5 begins with a visit to Culloden Battlefield before exploring the Cairngorms National Park with towering mountain ranges and large tracts of Caledonian Pine Forest. Heading south we tour through Carrbridge and take in the popular Victorian tourist town of Pitlochry. Overnight Pitlochry

Day 6

Highland Perthshire & Stirling Castle


Day 6 explores highland Perthshire before we travel south to Stirling. This afternoon, enjoy a tour of Stirling Castle to take in the long and turbulent history, the Royal Apartments have been impressively returned to their 16th century glory. Overnight nr Stirling

Day 7

St. Andrews


Day 7 we travel east to Falkland Palace - once a favourite retreat of Mary Queen of Scots, before heading to Tayport in the Kingdom of Fife. The afternoon is spent taking in St Andrews with its busy market town, ancient golf course and historic cathedral. Overnight nr St Andrews

Day 8

Edinburgh & Rosslyn Chapel


Day 8 we view the famous Forth Rail Bridge and then visit 15th century Rosslyn Chapel made famous by Dan Brown's book ‘The Da Vinci Code’. Enjoy an afternoon on the Royal Mile with its charming medieval architecture and the opportunity to do some speciality shopping.
